Over the winter months the men were housed in
private billets whilst stationed at Luton, Epping and Watford. Four
soldiers outside one of the billets, presumably being welcomed by
their hostess. Other households in the same road also took in soldiers.
Written in chalk on the house wall is "Norris 2nd 6th D. Coy
- Men". The soldiers second from the left
was from Matlock. |
