| Description/Historical Information: | The identity of this soldier, a Corporal, is not yet known. His rifle was one of the Japanese Type 30 received by the 2/6th Battalion
on 25 Feb 1915 (WO 95/3025/3, Battalion's War Diary, 1914 - 1916, TNA). According to the war diary, these were handed in on 22 November 1915 and 303 (Lee-Enfield) Rifles were issued instead. This soldier is also in photographs VLA9738, VLA9742, VLA9779 and VLA9780. |
