Matlock was divided into two sections for collection purposes. Riber side covered the Riber hillside, including both Riber and the settlements below. Bank side was the remainder of the parish. No addresses were given and only two inhabitants, Anthony Wigley and Robert Clife, paid more than £1 in tax.
